Mrs. Alma Jennell (Alexander) Oliver, age 89, of Lavonia, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Brown Health & Rehab in Royston.
Born November 29, 1930, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Alexander and Rosa (Reynolds) Alexander. Prior to retirement, she worked as a waitress and baker. She was a member of Price Chapel Church of God. Mrs. Oliver will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Oliver; son: Donald Harvey; brothers: Frank Alexander and Ernest Alexander; and sister: Mary Jo Collins.
She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law: Doug & Ruth Harvey, Ricky & Tammy Oliver, and Randy & Sandy Oliver; daughter & son-in-law: Annette & Walter Acuff; brother: Charles Alexander; sisters: Bonnie Jordan and Ida Faye Pitts; eleven grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Price Chapel Church of God with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselane Cemetery in Toccoa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of Doug & Ruth Harvey.
