Jenny Long Ford, 81, of Athens, GA, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 25th, 2021.
Jenny was born on July 31, 1939 in Charlotte, NC and was the daughter of the late Franklin W. Long and Loyall Hurd Long. Jenny graduated from Grady School of Nursing at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta in 1960. She worked at Athens General Hospital in Athens, GA, as a registered nurse, where she met her husband, Dr. Henry Jack Ford. They were married in 1963 and after the birth of her two daughters, she became a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, GA.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Henry Jack Ford; daughters: Katherine Crossan (Tom) and Nancy Piotrowski (Gary); and four grandchildren: Kayleigh Crossan, Duncan Crossan (Jessica Foster), Chase Piotrowski, and Elise Piotrowski.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
