Obituary
Mr. Jerry D. Bailey, age 63 of 302 Vickery Street, Hartwell, Ga., died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Hospice House of the Upstate.
Born February 20, 1943 in Franklin County, He was the son of the late Denzil Bailey and Edna Peeples Bailey. He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, was an avid deer hunter and a member of the Prices Chapel Church of God.
He is survived by: daughter, Sherry "Rene" Bailey of Spartanburg, S.C., friend, Linda Risner of Hartwell, Ga., brothers, Lev Bailey, Anderson, S.C., and Eddie Bailey, Hartwell, Ga., sisters, Gracie Bailey and Mary Lou Koch, both of Hartwell, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sidney Carey Bailey, a son, Jerry Daniel Bailey, Jr., and a brother, Hershel Bailey
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of Prices Chapel Church of God.Revs. Johnny Stowe and Fred Greenway will officiate. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at 1:30 p.m.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. The family will be at the home. Memorial can be made to Prices Chapel Church of God, 45 Prices Chapel Road, Lavonia, Ga. 30553
