Mr. Verlon Jerry Edens, 71, of Drake Road, Elberton, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at his son's home.
Born on December 25, 1947 in Savannah GA, he was the son of the late Hilda Inez Tillman Thompson.Mr. Edens was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Hartwell Project, where he was an Electronics Technician.He was of the Holiness Faith.
Survivors include his wife: Betty R. Edens; a son: Brian Edens and his wife Mary of Royston; a sister: Sharon Howard of Savannah GA and a several nieces and nephews also survive.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.Other times the family will be at the home of Brian & Mary Edens, 1320 Hale Crossing Road, Royston.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Bobby Dunaway officiating.Burial will be in the Zidon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
