Mr. Jerry Frank Floyd, 76, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home.

Born on January 30, 1942 in Bowersville GA, he was the son of the late Joe Frank Floyd and Sara Mann Floyd.Mr. Floyd was a retired route salesman for various food companies, member of the Bowersville Baptist Church and attended the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.Jerry had many hobbies and owned several businesses over the years.He was a former Hart County Coroner and served also in several public servant positions as well.He was a local favorite at the local speedways and was inducted into the North Georgia Dirt Track Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife: Frances Eaves Floyd, two sons: Jaybez Floyd & Mandy of Hartwell and Jeffrey Floyd & Becky of Newnan GA; a daughter: Kim Calipo & Darrel of Temecula CA; a sister: Luyana Floyd of Hartwell; ten grandchildren: Sadie Day, Justin Floyd, Madison Floyd, Amanda Vickery, Zachary Vickery, Madison Calipo, Ali Calipo, Jackson Floyd, Lillie Floyd and Lindsey Floyd; four great-grandchildren: Rue, Molly, Avery and Sydney also survive.Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Tina Floyd-Sherwood; a son-in-law: Rick Sherwood and a brother: Charles Floyd.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb, Mr. Fred Greenway, Mr. Benson Saylors and Mr. Leslie Boles.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Leukemia – Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter, 2859 Paces Ferry Road SE, Suite 725, Atlanta, GA 30339.
