Mr. Jerry Raymond Porterfield, 77, of Royston, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville GA.

Born on June 12, 1945 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Doyle Raymond Porterfield and Gladys McGarity Porterfield. Mr. Porterfield was a retired from the van conversion industry and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his step-daughter: Theresa Fowler (Tony) of Bowersville; step son: Julian Roach; one sister: Gearlene Sullivan of Lavonia; two half-brothers: Lamar Myers of Lavonia and Dwight Myers of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Rhonda, Mercedes, Camry and three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Haley and Hannah also survive. Mr. Porterfield is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Geneva Crook Porterfield and one half-brother: Greg Myers.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Jerry Porterfield's life will be held Sunday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home.
