Mr. Jerry G. Saylors, Sr, 91 of Christmas Tree Road, Bowersville, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home.

Born on July 28, 1932 in Canon GA, he was the son of the late Willis Saylors and Mamie Owens Saylors.  Mr. Saylors was a carpenter with Troy Bowers Home Builders and a member of the Old Canon Baptist Church and attended Bible Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife: Katrenia Pickens Saylors; one daughter: Gail Leopard (Roger); one son: Jerry Saylors Jr (Yvonne) all of Bowersville; eight grandchildren: Angela Scoggins (Shane), Jenny Turner (Shane), Jason Saylors (Robin), Elizabeth Campbell (Jeff), Julie Saylors (Ronda), Justin Saylors (Tonya), Pamela Peace  (Brandon) Jamie Saylors (Nicole) and nineteen great grandchildren.  Mr. Saylors is preceded in death by his parents; one great grandchild: Lauren Saylors; one brother: Ray Saylors and one sister: Juanita Dowell.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Saylors Sr. will be Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Veal, Rev. Andy Huff and Dr. Dan Bailey officiating.  Burial will be in the Bowersville City Cemetery, Bowersville GA.

The following men will serve as Pallbearers: Jason Saylors, Justin Saylors, Jamie Saylors, Keith Saylors, Ethan Saylors, Shane Turner, Shane Scoggins, Jeff Campbell, Brandon Peace   and the following men will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Alex Higgins, Balin Jones, Chase Coulter, Bryson Campbell, Carson Saylors, Easton Saylors, Hudson Saylors, Adam Saylors and Hunter Saylors.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, 77 Bible Baptist Church Road, Royston, GA 30662.
