Mr. Jerry C. Tallent, 63, of Hickory Crossing Road, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on January 30, 1954 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late Dewitt Tallent Sr. and Rosa Lee Hill Tallent.Mr. Tallent was a retired Truck Driver and a member of the Hartwell Church of God.

Survivors include his wife: Diane White Tallent; his son: Jeremy Dewitt Tallent and his fiancée Jessica Ross of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Aubree Tallent, Tristen Tallent and Landon Grizzell; a brother: Dewitt Tallent Jr. of Hartwell; six sisters: Shelby Campbell, Shirley Freeman, Rachel Boles, Doris McCurley and Frances Adams all of Hartwell and Linda Fowler of Stephens GA.Mr. Tallent was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Diana Marie Tallent and a sister: Kathleen Jones.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Lonnie Bennett and Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening.The family is at the home.
