Mr. Jerry D. Teasley, 74, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Nancy Hart Nursing Home, Elberton GA.

Born on June 22, 1948 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Clayte Teasley and Edith Kay Teasley. Mr. Teasley was a retired supervisor for Milliken in Hartwell and Lavonia.  He also was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was a past Post Commander and lifetime member of the VFW Post 8076. Jerry was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Thrasher Teasley; two daughters: Wendy T. Holmes (Scott) of Hartwell, Tina A. Teasley (Phil Hill) of Athens; one son: Joseph Teasley (Elizabeth) of Hartwell; one sister: Lucy T. Jordon (Charles) of Eastanollee GA; eight grandchildren: Justin Holmes (Ashley), Lindsay Moffitt (Seth), Skyler Teasley (Annaleigh), Lauren Robinson, Chloe Teasley, Dawson Teasley, Bristol Teasley, Andie Jane Holmes and one great grandchild: Jaiden Coker. He is also survived by his fur baby Chihuahua Katie. Mr. Teasley is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Verlyn Teasley, Eugene Teasley, Chandler Teasley, John Teasley, Larry Teasley; and one sister: Rebecca Haywood.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home of Wendy and Scott Holmes, 325 Ack Powell Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.

A celebration of life for Mr. Jerry Teasley will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Buffington and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.
