Mr. Jesse Wilson, Jr., age 69, of Royston, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his home.
Born June 2, 1944, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late J.J. and Eva (Whiten) Wilson. He retired from Piedmont Products. Mr. Wilson was a member of New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church and an honorary member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Glenn Wilson; son: Randy Wilson; and granddaughter: Courtney Brown.
He is survived by his wife Donna (Dixon) Wilson; daughter: Robyn Wilson Chastine and husband, John, of Hartwell; son: Ricky Wilson and wife, Kim, of Hartwell; son: Chris Smith and wife, Tonya, of Danielsville; daughter: Amanda Akins and husband, Kip, of Canon; son: Neil Smith and wife, Jennifer, of Carlton; daughter: Melissa Scoggins and husband, Tony, of Bowman; brothers: Arthur "Butch" Wilson, Ted Wilson, Ray Wilson, and Cecil Wilson; sister: Alma Roberts; and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church, in Royston, with Rev. Chris Prickett, Rev. Clay Huff, and Rev. Tommy Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. John Todd officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to defray medical expenses.
