Mrs. Jessie Alice Bailey McCurley, 87, of New Prospect Road, Hartwell, died Monday, August 18, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on March 27, 1927, in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Bailey and Minnie Adams Bailey.She was retired from Dollar General Store as the manager and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son: Jeffrey McCurley; one daughter: Patsy White and her husband Doug.She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin T. McCurley; and two brothers: Joe Bailey and Hugh Bailey.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Leslie Boles officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Patsy and Doug White, 105 Liberty Circle, Hartwell, GA.
