Mrs. Jessie May Morey Tryon, 88, of Hartwell, GA, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at The Oaks in Athens.

Born on July 31, 1935 in Glen, NY, she was the daughter of the late Simeon Jay Morey and Anna Margarite Eaker Morey. Mrs. Tryon was a deli specialist for Publix and a member of Encounter Life Church in Newnan, GA.

Survivors include her three sons: David Tryon (Julie) of Hartwell, Gary Tryon (Lisa) of Newnan, GA, and Robert Tryon of Florida; one brother: Simeon Morey Jr. of New York; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Tryon is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lewis Henry Tryon; daughter: Peggy Davis; two brothers: and one sister.

Mrs. Jessie Tryon wished to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at the Encounter Life Church in Newnan, GA, with the date to be announced.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
