Mrs. Jessie Herring Vickery, 88, of McCurry Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home.

Born on June 20, 1932 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Jess W. Herring and Lillie Hembree Herring.Mrs. Vickery retired from Bellcraft Mfg. Co., where she was a machine operator.She was also a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two daughters: Jolynn Marett (Tommy) and Pamela Jones (Todd) both of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Abigail McKenzie "Abbie" Kirkhart (Robert) and Coleman Thomas Marett.Mrs. Vickery was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Jo Beth Vickery; two brothers: Frank Herring, Charles Herring; one half-brother: JC Herring; three sisters: Mattie Lou Moore, Virginia Herring, Elizabeth Farmer; and one half-sister: Ruth Vickery.

Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks.

Mrs. Vickery will lie in state at the Strickland Funeral of Hartwell from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday for anyone to come by and pay their respects.Also anyone can leave their condolences and best wishes on her tribute page. The family will be at their respective homes.

Graveside services for Mrs. Jessie Vickery will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milltown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.Everyone will be asked to practice Social Distancing and may want to bring a lawn chair.
