Mr. Jim Ed Goodwin, 65, of Royston, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Brown Health & Rehab.
Born March 23, 1952 in Royston, he was the son of the late Tom Ed and Mary Frances (Williams) Goodwin. He was a motor grader and road scraper for Hart County Road Department and was of the holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Roy Goodwin.
He is survived by his wife: Bettie (Skelton) Goodwin; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathy and Herman Sanders of Royston, Betty and Robert Ballenger of Canon and Mary and Jimmy White of Canon; brother and sister-in-law: Roger and Brenda Goodwin of Canon; six nieces and six nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hood and Rev. Dorsey Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Double Branches Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Labrone Justice, Michael Justice, Joshua Thomason, Justin Brown, Donnie Brown and Larry Brown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the families will be at their respective homes.
