Mr. James Howard "Jim" McGaha, 81, of Charleston SC, formerly of Cedar Lane, Hartwell, passed away Friday, December 23, 2106 at his son's home.

Born on June 27, 1935 in Dandridge TN, he was the son of the late Howard McGaha and Rosa Mae Gaddis McGaha. Mr. McGaha retired from Wallace Computer Services as a Vice-President and was a member of the Hart County Golden K, Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.He was also a U. S. Army veteran and a member and a Past-Commander of Hartwell American Legion Post #109.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Philip & Donna McGaha of Charleston SC; his daughter: Maria McGaha of Smyrna GA; four grandchildren: Ellen McGaha, James McGaha, Anna McGaha and Ethan McGaha.Mr. McGaha was preceded in death by his wife: Faye McInvale McGaha; a brother: Norman McGaha and a sister: Kathrine Kerr.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.Memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643 or the Hartwell Kiwanis Club.
