Obituary
Mr. James "Jim" Populorum, Sr., 71, of 162 Country Lane, Hartwell, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on March 14, 1942 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Thomas Daniel Populorum and Leila Henry Populorum.Mr. Populorum was a parts handler at the Auto Zone Distribution Center in Lavonia, was a member of The Way Church of Hartwell, and was a US Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Grange Populorum; three sons: Jim Populorum of Hartwell, Jack Populorum of Alabaster, Al, David Populorum of Hartwell; five daughters: Donna Sorensen of Long Beach, CA, Jill Populorum of Hartwell, Vicky Populorum of Washington State, Michelle Butrick of Wisconsin, Tamara Larimore of Kansas; one brother, Les Populorum of Wisconsin; one sister, Mary Populorum of Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Populorum was preceded in death by his parents; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at The Way Church of Hartwell with Rev. Lee Smith and Rev. Jim Carey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to The Way Church, 1332 Airline Goldmine Road, Canon, GA30520.
