Mr. James "Jim" Hugh Rogers, 79, of North Forest Ave., Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his home.
Born on August 12, 1936 in Atlanta GA, he was the son of the late Joseph Otis Rogers and Bessie Mae Haney Rogers.Mr. Rogers was a retired Lt. for the Doraville Police Department and was a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include his companion: Geraldine Payne; two sons: Jay Rogers of Senoia, GA, Tracy Rogers of East Charleston, SC; one daughter: Wendy Marriott of Hartwell;three grandchildren: Brittany Rogers Furlan, Justin Rogers, Molly Rogers Strader and five great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
