Mr. James Alton "Jim" White, 82, of South Fowler Street, Canon, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his home.

Born on October 17, 1934 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Columbus White and Cora Bailey White.Mr. White was a retired security guard/courier with Ty Cobb Health System with 38 years of service and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Frances Lewis White; one son: Jimmy L. White (Mary) of Canon; two daughters: Susan White of Canon, Tammy Oliver (Ricky) of Lavonia; one sister: Dot Fowler of Hartwell; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.Mr. White was preceded in death by two sons: David James White, Roger Wayne White; one grandson: James Gary Garner; four brothers: George, Joe, Gary, Curtis White; three sisters: Emma Simpson, Margie Richardson, and Ruby McCoy.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 18, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Sean Payne, Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Jimmy Myerholtz officiating. The body will be place in the church at 1:30.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.The family is at their respective homes.
