Jimmy Franklin Bailey, Sr., age 81, of Martin, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born on August 23, 1943, in Eatonton, Georgia, Jimmy was the son of the late Frank Bailey and Willie Mae O'Kelley. Throughout his life, he was known for his dedication and hard work. Before retiring, he worked as a mechanic at Briggs Equipment. Jimmy was also a member of the Baptist faith. Jimmy had a passion for the great outdoors, spending much of his free time hunting and fishing. These activities brought him joy and peace, and he often shared these moments with family and friends.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Stacy Stringfellow and Jimmy (Sonny) Bailey, and his grandchildren, Brandon Morton and Taylor Beaston. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Aubrey and McKenzye Morton.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Gail Smith Bailey, his son-in-law, Jody Stringfellow, and five sisters.

A memorial service to honor Jimmy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the funeral home chapel. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating his life.
