Mr. James Mack "Jimmy" Dyar, 68, of Center of the World Road, Canon, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on June 24, 1948 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Claude Columbus Dyar and Reba Skelton Dyar.Mr. Dyar was a graduate of Tri-County Technical College and was a retired Production Superintendent for Milliken & Company.He was also former owner/operator of Dyar Mechanical.Mr. Dyar was a member of the Cherry Hill Hunting and Shooting Preserve and was an avid Golfer.He attended the Carnesville Church of God.

Survivors include his wife: Marilyn Carter Dyar; a son: Jamie Dyar & Angie of Canon and a grandson: Britt Dyar.Mr. Dyar was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Mary Alice Roach, Dot York and Emily Carrington and a brother: Marion Dyar.

A memorial service celebrating Jimmy's life will held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Gary Ledford and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart County Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Hartwell Ga 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
