Jimmy Pierce Foster, age 80, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, surrounded by his children.

Born April 13, 1941, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Virginia Poole Foster. Prior to retirement, he worked as an Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Georgia National Guard and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.He also enjoyed time with his friends at the Hardee's Breakfast Club each morning.

He is survived by the mother of his children: Brenda Hart Foster of Lavonia; children: Libby Foster Loftis of Danielsville, Wesley Foster (Kelly) of Atlanta and Vance Foster (Elizabeth) of Hartwell; grandchildren: Foster Loftis, Alden Loftis, Liam Foster, Graeme Foster, Lila Foster and Webb Foster; sister: Martha Foster Addison of Lavonia; brother: Randy Foster (Tammy) of Lavonia.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Lavonia City-Burgess Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Joe Renfro officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 12:30 p.m.
