Mr. James Joel "Jimmy" Lawrence, 57, of 660 Bode Weaver Road, Hartwell, GA, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born May 5, 1951 in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late Albert W. Lawrence and Rosa Lee Segars Lawrence.He was employed by Hart County Road Dept as a Heavy Equipment Operator.He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by:Wife, Julia "Julie"Anne Saylors Lawrence of the home; Brothers, Charles A. Lawrence of Hartwell, GA, John C. Lawrence of Comer, GA, George "Bob" Lawrence of Hartwell, GA and Eugene Lawrence of Lavonia, GA; Sisters, Inez Holland of Hartwell, GA, Betty Carruth of Hartwell, GA, Evelyn Gaines of Elberton, GA, Annie Ruth Burrell of Elberton, GA and Faye Turner of Elberton, GA.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brother, Billy Lawrence and Sisters, Viola Clark and Kathleen Cantrell.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Ken Brewer will officiate.Mr. Lawrence wishes to be cremated after the service.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m. The family is at their respective homes.
