Mr. Jimmy D. Lewis, 77, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on May 27, 1943 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Newton E. Lewis and Carrie Elizabeth Maxwell Lewis.Jimmy was a former gas station attendant for Dyer Gulf Station, self-employed handyman and maintenance worker for Strickland Funeral Home.He was also of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include several cousins.Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: J.C. Lewis and John Lewis.

Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks.

Jimmy will lie in state Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. for anyone to come by and pay their respects.The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Lewis will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
