Mr. Jimmy Lee McDowell, 59, of Pressman Road, Elberton, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his home.

Born on November 16, 1954 in Royston GA, he was the son of Bob T. McDowell and Opal Ricks McDowell.Mr. McDowell was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Bob McDowell and Opal McDowell both of Hartwell; his wife, Joyce Croson McDowell of Elberton; a son, Brandon McDowell of Hartwell; a daughter, Salina Daniels of North Vernon IN; two sisters, Diane Hughes of Elberton and Sherry Gibson of Hartwell; six grandchildren, Ethan McDowell, Cameron McDowell, Katie McDowell, Piper McDowell, Paige Daniels & Jaden Daniels.Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge McDowell.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m... The family are at their respective homes.
