Mr. Jimmy Alvin Wilson, 86, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home.

Born on April 14, 1937 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Walton J. Wilson and Doris Little Wilson. Mr. Wilson was retired from Cleveland Ford of Hartwell where he was a salesman and parts manager with over 40 years of service, and he was a former bus driver for the Hart County Charter System. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, greeter, kitchen crew member, and served on various church committees. Jimmy also loved gardening and NASCAR racing, watching Game Show Network, solving word search puzzles, and was an avid fan of The Andy Griffith Show.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years: Johnnie Fleming Wilson of Hartwell; his sister: Lynda Wilson Robertson of Hartwell; and several nieces and nephews including Kara Tiffany (Matt) and Tyson Tiffany of Athens; John Fleming (Jeanette) of Jasper, GA, and a special niece: Ashley Robertson of Hartwell also survive. Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Janet Lisa Wilson; brother: Bobby Wilson; and brother-in-law: Heyward Robertson.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Wilson will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Webb, Rev. John Fleming, and Mr. Leslie Boles officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.
