Mr. Charles Paris "Jink" Johnson, 97, of 3205 Airline-Goldmine Rd., Canon, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
Born on January 2, 1912 in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of the late George Thomas Johnson and Pearl Hendrix Johnson.He was a retired Farmer.Mr. Johnson was the oldest member of the Bethany Baptist Church and Adult Men's SS Class.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth M. Johnson and his wife Janice K. Johnson of Canon and special caregiver, Arleen Brown.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Opal Price Johnson; second wife, Mauline Harris Jordan Johnson; daughter, Mary Fay Johnson; four brothers, Joe H. Johnson, Jack Johnson, Jim R. Johnson & William Haley "Doc" Johnson and three sisters, Eula Price, Susie Brown and Lydia Weaver.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham, Rev. Dalton Carrington and Rev. M.C. Radford officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday night.The family is at the home.
