Obituary
Mrs. Jo Anne Kay Skelton, 79, of Ridge Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Lake Pointe Assisted Living.
Born on February 11, 1934 in Elberton GA, she was the daughter of the late Roy Kay and Nora Anderson Kay.She was retired owner/operator of Jo's Beauty Shop.Mrs. Skelton was a member of the Red Hats and the Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter: Melanie Almond and her husband Chuck of Dewy Rose; a son: Steven Skelton and his wife Heather of Bowersville; a brother, Virgil Kay of Hartwell and three grandchildren: Madelyn Almond, Sidney Skelton and Blake Skelton also survive.Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by her parents; husband, G. Kenneth Skelton and a sister, Mary Beth King.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. John Silver officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.The family will be at the home of Melanie & Chuck Almond, 2118 Stinchcomb Road, Dewy Rose GA after the graveside service.
