Joan Lynn Bell, age 27, of Canon, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.

Born on September 5, 1997, in Stephens County, Joan was the cherished daughter of William and Kristi Drake Bell. A proud Franklin County High School graduate from the class of 2016, she was a devoted member of the Christian faith. Joan dedicated over a decade of her career to AutoZone, where she was well-respected and loved by her colleagues. Yet, her true passion in life was spending precious moments with her beloved son, Jackson Lee Bell. She treasured family trips, especially with Jackson and Abigail, to the beach, aquarium, and other favorite destinations, creating lasting memories with loved ones.

Joan was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles Edgar Bell and Joan Marion Bell; maternal grandparents, Abbott David Drake, Sr. and Virginia Florence Artist Drake; and step-grandfather, Grady Franklin Sorrow.

She leaves behind her parents, William and Kristi Bell; her son, Jackson Lee Bell; her brothers, David Bell and William Bell, Jr.; and her sister, Abigail Bell.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. During other hours, the family will be at their home.
