Dr Miriam Joan Robinson Holcombe, age 81, a resident of Canon, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Holcombe was born September 26, 1937 in Evergreen, AL, she was the daughter of the late William Robinson and Eva Mae Davis Robinson. She was a member of the Assemblies of God church. She was a retired teacher with a Doctoral degree in education from the University of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband: Rev. Duane R. Holcombe; daughters: Karen Bracken and Teresa Holcombe; son: Kevin Holcombe & wife Janice; grandchildren; Kevin Holcombe Jr, Aubrey Holcombe, Patrick Bracken, Brodie Bracken, Summer Granado, Michael Granado, Jared Johnson, James Johnson; great-grandchildren: Georgia Giles, Sheila Johnson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia is in charge of the arrangements.
