Ms. Joan Parham Wilson Pocus, 68, of Summit Drive, Carnesville, formerly of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her home.
Born on June 5, 1949 in Anderson, SC she was the daughter of the late James David Parham, Jr. and Lois M. Vickery Parham. Joan was an honor graduate from Hart County High School and received an associate degree from Forrest College. Ms. Pocus was a retired secretary from Patterson Pump and attended Clarks Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son: Ted Wilson and his wife Kellie of Cowpens, SC; two daughters: Angie Dyar and her husband Jamie, Mandy Ginn and her husband Britt all of Carnesville; a special friend: Steve Jones; one sister: Jean Leard and her husband David of Hartwell; one brother: James David Parham, III; six grandchildren: Kaleigh, Ivey, J.D., Georgia Ginn, Courtney Hames, and Britt Dyar also survive. Ms. Pocus was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service celebrating Joan's life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Britt Ginn and Rev. Jack Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell prior to the service. The family is at the home.
