Mrs. Joan Ellen Hamilton Stoddard, age 85, of Springville, NY, passed away Saturday, January 21st at the home of her daughter in Lavonia.

She was born June 18, 1937, in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late William and Celestine Work Hamilton. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Orchard Park, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Stoddard; and sister: Mary (Roger) Pitiss.

She is survived by her children: William E. (Rolane) Stoddard, David J. Stoddard, Mark P. (Julie) Stoddard, Ellen M. Stoddard, Marie L. Kveen, and Paul R. Stoddard; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister: Carol (John) Galus and brother: Thomas Hamilton also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 18th at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Orchard Park, NY at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Thomas H. McCarthy Funeral Home in Buffalo, NY Friday, February 17th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
