JoAnn Hamby Greenway, age 75, of Canon, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born February 5, 1947, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Lois Blackmon Hamby. She retired from Coats & Clark as a winder after many years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Greenway was of the Church of God faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband: Clifford Inman Greenway; daughter: Teresa Crump; sister: Betty Powell; brother: John Hamby; and grandchildren: Joshua Crump and Levi Roach.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Joey & Gail Crump of Martin; daughters & sons-in-law: Sharon & Paul Patterson of Lavonia and Karen & Greg Bond of Royston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Dr. Jerome Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
