Obituary
Mr. Joseph "Joe" Albanese, Jr., 94, of Hartwell, formerly of North Augusta SC, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born on August 23, 1920 in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Joseph Albanese, Sr. and Josephine Tomasetta Albanese. He retired from the Savannah River Nuclear Plant as an instrument tech and lab assistant and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in North Augusta, SC. He was a US Army Air Corp and US Navy veteran serving in World War II and Korean War.
Survivors include his wife: Mildred Bowdoin Albanese; two sons: Dr. Steve Albanese and his wife Lynn of Hartwell and Mike Albanese of Venice, CA.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Posey Funeral Directors, 1307 Georgia Ave, North Augusta, SC with burial in the Pineview Memorial Park in North Augusta, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, 639 Georgia Ave, North Augusta, SC 29841.
