Mr. Joe Alan Poole, 55, of Glenn Street, Hartwell, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on May 7, 1961 in Hartwell, GA he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Brown Poole and the late Charles Jackson Poole.Joe was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, Billy Brown Sunday School Class, and the Men's Club.He was given the honorary title of Head Usher. He also was a member of the Solo's at the Hartwell United Methodist Church and the FCS at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.Joe was a big fan of all Hart County High School Sports.
Survivors include his mother: Mary Elizabeth Brown Poole; one brother: Douglas Charles Poole and his wife Sue of Hartwell; one sister: Diane Foster and her husband Mike of Lavonia; six nephews: Ryan Poole and Jordan, Lance Poole and Katie, Lucas Poole, Eli Poole and Michelle, Kevin Foster and Kayla, Kody Foster; one niece: Katie Miller and Nathan; seven great nieces and nephews; one uncle Jerrold and Patsy Brown of Griffin; three aunts: JoAnn Brown of Hartwell, Mary Nell Short and Patricia Poole both of Athens.Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his father: Charles Poole and one brother: Larry Poole.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Bryce Behnke, Rev. Billy Pittman and Rev. Doug Brown officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Morning Joe Sunday School Class, c/o Janet Fleming, 2345 Royston Hwy. Hartwell, GA 30643.
