Mr. Joel Teasley Bratcher, 84, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.

Born on December 24, 1937 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late George Lee Bratcher and Naomi Byrum Bratcher. Mr. Bratcher was a supervisor in the finishing department at the Hartwell Garment Company, supervisor at Apparel Finishers in Athens, and drove a school bus for the Hart County School System. He was an avid yard seller and enjoyed doing handy work. He was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church, and a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife: Shelby Chitwood Bratcher; daughter: Cindy Woodall of Hartwell; sister: Mahala Sanders of Hartwell; and grand dog: Coco.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Joel Bratcher will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sean Payne officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
