Mr. Joel E. Neese, 76, of Lavonia Hwy, Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Brown Health & Rehab.

Born on January 29, 1943 in Lavonia, GA, he was the son of the late George Walton Neese and Mary Edith Jones Neese.Mr. Neese was retired from Neese Construction Co. and of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include one daughter: Melissa Neese; one son: Noel Neese; two brothers: Roger Neese, Gary Neese; two sisters: Faye Wood, Mary Pierce; ninegrandchildren: Anthony Keller, Samuel Keller, Joel Keller, Dustyn Neese, Matt Neese, Nathan Neese, Deana Neese, Madisyn Neese, Bianca Calderon; seven great-grandchildren: Maya, Landen, Jordan, Hannah, Adrian, Mikey and Jesenia.Mr. Neese was preceded in death by his wife: Nina Dutton Neese; two sons: Perry Neese and Walton Neese.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Valley Tabernacle Holiness Church with Rev. Hubert Carter, Rev. Dorsey Holmes and Rev. Bobby Joe Allen officiating. The body will be placed in the church on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Faith Valley Tabernacle Holiness Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends both Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.The family is at the home.
