Obituary
Mr. Joel Dean Vickery, 83, of 116 Airline-Goldmine Rd, Bowersville, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Hart Care Center.
Born on June 5, 1925 in Hart County GA, he was the son of the late Isham Vickery and Drucie Ertzberger Vickery.He was a retired auto parts salesman for Auto Parts & Equipment of Hartwell and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Wayne Vickery and his wife Angela of Gainesville; two grandsons, Brad Vickery and Bobby Vickery and a brother, Robert Vickery of Bowersville.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Ethridge Vickery and a sister, Nell McLane.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 17 at 11:00 p.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Coleman officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at their respective homes.
