Obituary
Mr. John Wesley Alderfer, 71, of Canon, GA and Port Charlotte, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, Athens, GA.
Born on October 17, 1946 in Westchester, PA, he was the son of the late Earle Alderfer and Mary Ellen Alderfer. Mr. Alderfer was a home improvement supply salesman and formerly worked for Lowes.
Survivors include his wife: Frances Lewis Alderfer; one daughter: Jessica Ernabeth DeAngelis and her husband Frank of Canon; two grandchildren: Gianna Marie DeAngelis, Frank Anthony DeAngelis; and several brothers and sisters also survive.Mr. Alderfer was preceded in death by a son: Jonathan Edward Alderfer.
A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Deacon Jerry Korte officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell Sunday afternoon prior to the service.The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army – GA Division, 1000 Center Place, Norcross, GA 30093.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
