Mr. John Thomas Coker, age 65, of Hartwell, GA, formerly of Fountain Inn, SC, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born September 6, 1944 in Greenville Co., SC he was the son of the late Tom C. Coker and Junious Boyce Coker.He is a member of Fountain Inn Baptist Church, was a Deacon & R.A.'s Leader at Fork Shoals Baptist Church and taught Sunday School at New Prospect Baptist Church in Hartwell. He attends Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell, attended Dan Greer Bible School in Greenville, SC and retried from John D. Hollingsworth in Greenville, SC. He was a good Christian man and a good Father.He enjoyed the lake when he was well. God took another good soul home, where he will feel no pain.

His survivors include:Jimmie Ruth of Hartwell; Son, John Coker III of Pelzer, SC and a sister, Louise Willis of Pelzer, SC.He is preceded in death by Parents and Sisters, Sara Holcombe, June Coker and Christine Coker.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel.Rev. Terry Meeks will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. Friday before the service.The family is at 189 Pennie Lane, Hartwell.
