Mr. John Milton "Pete" Craft, 90, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.
Born on April 20, 1930 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late John W. Craft and Mary Skelton Craft.Mr. Craft was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass, a retired school bus driver for the Hart County School System and a retired Courier for the Hartwell Sun.He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.Mr. Craft also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era.
Survivors include his wife: Margaret Burns Craft of the home; a son: William Craft (Tammy) of Canon GA; a daughter: Doris Fields (Doug) of Cumming GA; a brother: Tommy Craft of Hartwell; two sisters: Yetive Davenport of Hartwell and Mary Buchanan of Hoschton GA; four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Craft was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Marie Vaughn and three brothers: Dalton Grizzle, Gene Grizzle and Jack Grizzle.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral services for Mr. "Pete" Craft will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Military and Masonic Rites.
