Mr. John Furman Bailey, 93, of Woods Lane, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.

Born on March 6, 1931 in Hapeville GA, he was the son of the late John Bailey and Stella Mae Rollins Bailey.  Mr. Bailey attended Southern Tech and was a graduate of Georgia Tech.  He was also an avid Golfer, member of the Hartwell Golf Club, handy man helping his neighbors with their projects and even built his own home on Lake Hartwell.  Mr. Bailey was a U. S. Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include a son: Michael Bailey of Ft. Myers FL; a brother: Danny Bailey (Jill) of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Ben Bailey (Maddie) of Griffin GA, Rachel Bailey of St. Louis MO and Zachary Bailey of Ft. Myers FL; four great-grandchildren: Alice Bailey, Margaret Bailey, Henry Bailey and Charlotte Bailey also survive. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife: Joan Hadden Bailey, a son: Scott E. Bailey; a grandson: Nicholas Bailey; three brothers: Gary Bailey, Toby Bailey and Harry Bailey and a sister: Barbara Ann Justice.

A time to gather and celebrate Mr. John Bailey's life will be Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. at his home, 173 Woods Lane, Hartwell.
