Mr. John Robert "Butch" Fagan, 69, of 116 Woodlake Circle, Hartwell, peacefully passed away, Friday, August 2, 2013 at his home.

Born on March 2, 1944 in Concord, NC, he was the son of the late John Robert Fagan and Doris Cash Fagan.Mr. Fagan was the owner/operator of a courier service which he operated for 20 years, was a member of Oak Bower Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War.Butch loved helping others and most recently discovered his talent for playing the piano.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Neil Fagan and his wife Jennifer of Lake Wylie, SC; a step-daughter, Sharon Habel and her husband Bill of Hartwell; two step-sons: Kevin Thompson and his wife Crystal of Hartwell, Brian Thompson of Hartwell; two brothers: Mike Fagan of Kannapolis, NC, Jerry Fagan and his wife Shelia of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters: Linda Helton of Kannapolis, NC, Patty Russell and her husband Sam of Kannapolis, NC;and two grandchildren: Bryce Fagan and Alli Fagan.Mr. Fagan was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Vicki Bowen Fagan.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Rev. Doug Brown officiating.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends on Monday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Flowers are optional or special memorials may be made to Oak Bower Baptist Church Youth, 1589 Old Hwy 29, Hartwell, GA30643.
