Mr. John Allen "Coach" Howard, 80, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.

Born on September 19, 1944 in Waycross GA, he was the son of the late Ernest Howard and Florine       Dorminey Howard.  Mr. Howard was a graduate of the Tennessee Martin College, where he played Football then later he received his Master's in Education from West Georgia College. He was a former Football Coach and History Teacher at Morrow High School in the Clayton County School System.  He was also inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in Ware County in 1998.

He later went to work for Delta Airlines and was an operations supervisor at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport and Greenville-Spartanburg Airport in Greer SC. John was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and a loved living on Lake Hartwell, Dogs, Horses, Hunting and was an Avid Fisherman.

Survivors include his wife: Dixie Lee Ann Moylan Howard and two nieces.  Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Glynda Woodard.

Mr. Howard wished to be cremated and the family has chosen to not have a service at this time.
