Mr. John Thomas "J.T." Price, 87, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully at home, as he requested, on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Born on September 24, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie H. Price and Mamie Massey Price. Mr. Price was a machine operator at Monroe/Tenneco Auto and was devoted employee for 42 years. He was also a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church, and the Hartwell VFW Post 8076. J.T. was also a father figure to every child in the neighborhood. Mr. Price was a veteran and proudly served in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife: Peggy Sanders Price of the home; son: Dale Price of Hartwell; daughter: Jan Allen (Rob) of Hartwell; two brothers: Ben Price (Wynell) of Lavonia, and Lloyd Price (Juanita Thompson) of Hartwell; a sister: Linda Phillips of Jefferson, GA; a grandson: Cody Price (Amanda); and two great-grandchildren: Sawyer & Colson Price. Mr. Price is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joel Price, Buddy Price and Charles Price.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. J.T. Price will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Leon Pierce and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
