Obituary
Mr. John Philip Skelly, 88, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born on September 29, 1932 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late John A. Skelly and Elizabeth Flood Skelly. Mr. Skelly was a retired truck driver for Motorman Trucking, and he was a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean War.
Survivors include his son: John M. Skelly of Southampton, NJ; daughter: Catherine D. DeTore (Bill) of Southampton, NJ; four grandchildren: Matthew DeTore (Genny), Jaclyn DeTore (Mark Mazur), Ryan Skelly, Erin Clarelli (Vinny); and one great grandchild: Benjamin DeTore.
Mr. Skelly wished to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
