Mr. John William Tegelaar, 91, 261 Fairview Ave, Hartwell, died Tuesday, February 5 at Hart Care Center.
Born on May 21, 1921 in Delft, Netherlands, he was the son of the late Simon P. Tegelaar and Teresa M. Hunnego Tegelaar.He was a retired Sales Engineer for General Dynamics, a member of the Providence United Methodist Church and a WW II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his son: David Tegelaar and his wife Mary of Norcross GA; a daughter: Sandra Bulthuis and her husband Jacob of Chicago IL; a half brother: Gijs Van Beurden of the Netherlands: a half sister: Reit Van Beurden of the Netherlands; four grandchildren: Jay Bulthuis, Christine Bulthuis-Lantz, Michael Bulthuis & David Tegelaar Jr.; nine great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Tegelaar was preceded in death by his wife: Marion Emily Skinner Tegelaar; a daughter: Joan Nancy Tegelaar; a sister: Teresa Tegelaar; three half-brothers: S. Van Beurden, Tone Van Beurden and Petrus Van Beurden.
Memorial services will be Friday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hart Care Center with Rev. Doug Brown officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2395 Providence Church Road, Lavonia GA 30553 or to the charity of one's choice.
