John Morris Wilson, 74, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023, in his home located in Carnesville, GA.

For decades, he was a proud resident of Gainesville, GA, and was a 1967 graduate of Gainesville High School. After high school, he attended Furman University and later transferred to Troy University where he played college football. He married Joyce Mason Wilson on December 7, 1990, in Gainesville, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, his two daughters Casey Ramey and her husband Hank and Cristy Worthington and her husband Travis, and his two grandsons Parker and Jackson Ramey.

Predeceased by his parents, Joanne and Cecil Wilson, and his grandson Mason Worthington. John was passionate about his relationship with Christ and attended The Journey First Baptist Church in Lavonia, GA.

He is remembered as being friendly to all and loved to reminisce about the good old days of playing football.

The family would like to thank family and friends for their thoughts and prayers. No funeral services will be held at the request of the deceased.
