Obituary
Mr. Johnnie Robert Gentry, 75, of 390 Sunnybrook Lane, Hartwell, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Hart County Hospital.
Born on September 11, 1936 in Iva SC, he was the son of the late Robert Gentry and Corrie Sanders Gentry.He was retired from M & M Convenience Store, a member of the Freedom Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran, serving in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Callie Turpin Gentry of the home; four daughters, Joann Adams, Donna Getsinger and Kim Bolton all of Anderson SC and Deborah Jordan of Carnesville; a son, Ricky Britt of Hartwell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Veal and Rev. Leroy Turpin officiating.Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.The family is at the home.
