Mr. Walter Francis "Johnny" Cleveland, 76, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.
Born on April 24, 1945 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late John Francis Cleveland and Ruth Irene Chatham Cleveland. Mr. Cleveland was a retired police officer for the City of Hartwell and the City of Royston. He was also a veteran of the US Army. Johnny was of the Baptist Faith, and he was a member of the Georgia Police Officer Association.
Survivors include his wife: Jean Hayes Cleveland; two daughters: Stacy Cleveland (Mark Neeley) and Stephanie Cook (Jay), all of Hartwell; two brothers: Ronald Cleveland (Brenda) and Len Cleveland (Andria), all of Bowersville; two sisters: Ann Cartee and Linda McCall (Bobby), all of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Kelsey Cook, Mason Cook (Madelyne), Danielle Judhan (Jeff), Sara Neeley, Brenda Neeley; and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Cleveland will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wade Dotson officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Cory Pulliam officiating followed by Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
