Mr. John Gary "Johnny" King, age 60, of Bowersville, died at his home.
Born November 16, 1953, in Hart County, he was the son of the late Hugh Dorsey King, Sr. and Carlyne (Walters) King. He was a graduate of Hart County High School. He was a self-employed mechanic. Mr. King was an expert marksman; his hobbies included guns and target competition. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brothers: James King, Thomas King, Gus King, Morris King, and Doug King; sisters: Jane Snelling, Priscilla Randall, and Nancy McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Hugh Dorsey King, Jr. and Robert Lee King.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Randall and Rev. John Forbes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
